The UFC on FOX 8 fight night bonuses went to Demetrious Johnson, Melvin Guillard, Ed Herman and Trevor Smith with each fighter getting a bonus of $50,000.
UFC President Dana White announced the bonuses at the post fight press conference.
The fight of the night went to Ed Herman and Trevor Smith who battled for their round with Herman winning the fight by split decision. This is the first fight of the night bonus for Herman and this is his fifth overall fight night bonus since he entered the UFC in 2006.
Guillard won the knockout of the night bonus for his win over Mac Danzig on the preliminary portion of tonight card. He knocked out Danzig in the second round and this is the fourth time that he has won a fight night bonus.
The submission of the night went to Johnson who submited John Moraga in the fifth round of tonight’s main event to retain the UFC flyweight title. He has now won a fight night bonus in back to back fights and it’s his third overall fight night bonus.
The UFC will give the bonus checks to the fighters once they pass their post fight drug test and those results will be announced in the coming weeks.
