UFC President Dana White went on ESPN’s SportsCenter this evening and announced that the new UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman will defend his title against former middleweight champion Anderson Silva in a rematch at UFC 168 on December 28th in Las Vegas.
The event will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and will also feature a co-main event rematch between UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey facing off against former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate.
During the interview on SportsCenter, ESPN played a quick clip of Anderson Silva where the former champion simply said “I’m back. Trust me, I’m back.” Dana White also stated “I think this will be the biggest pay-per-view we’ve ever done.”
