An undisclosed injury has forced Derek Brunson to pull out of his UFC 164 bout against Yoel Romero and stepping up to face Romero on short notice will be UFC newcomer Brian Houston.
UFC officials recently announced the change and the bout will take place on the UFC 164 preliminary card on Facebook.
UFC 164 takes place on August 31st from the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee and will be headlined by Benson Henderson defending the UFC lightweight title against Anthony Pettis.
Houston (4-0) began his professional MMA career last year and his last three wins have come by TKO/KO in the first round after winning his professional debut by decision.
Romero (5-1) is a Strikeforce vet and won his UFC debut earlier this year when he defeated Clifford Starks by TKO in the first round. All of his wins have come by TKO/KO and three of his wins have come in the first round.
