A welterweight bout has been officially added to UFC Fight Night 29 on October 9th as Mike Pierce will meet Rousimar Palhares.
UFC officials made the bout official on Wednesday and it was not announced if the fight will take place on the main or preliminary portion of the fight card.
UFC Fight Night 29 will take place from the Jose Correa Arena in Barueri, Sao Paulo, Brazil and will be headlined by a welterweight bout as Demian Maia meets Jake Shields.
Pierce (17-5) is currently on a four fight winning streak and has gone 9-3 in the UFC. His most recent victory came at UFC 162 against David Mitchell by TKO in the second round and two of his last three wins have come by TKO/KO.
Palhares (14-5) will be making his UFC welterweight debut in this bout and will be looking to snap a two fight losing streak. Both of those defeats came by TKO/KO in the first round and this will be his first fight since testing positive for a banned substance following his defeat to Hector Lombard at UFC on FX 6 last year.
