Conor McGregor has taken the UFC by storm in 2013 and that continued on Saturday in Boston at UFC on Fight Night 26 as he dominated Max Holloway to score a decision victory.UFC Fight Night Boston Poster

McGregor opened the fight by being the fighter taking control of the octagon and using leg kicks to have Holloway on his heels. For a majority of the opening round, Holloway had his back near the fence and struggled to mount much offense.

He would continue to use his leg kicks and punches to frustrate Holloway in the second round and would take the fight to the ground after catching a leg kick of his opponent. He would work his strikes from the ground and did not look for any submissions.

The final round would take place on the ground for most of the round as McGregor was in the dominant position. He would pass to several positions on the ground and several submissions seemed possible, but he elected to use his strikes instead. Holloway would make it to the final bell and McGregor won the fight on all three judges scorecards.

McGregor (14-2) has now won his first two fights in the UFC and has won his last ten fights. Holloway (7-3) has dropped back to back fights in the UFC after winning three in a row in the organization.
