Carlos Condit even up the score with Martin Kampmann as he won the fight in the fourth round by TKO in the main event of UFC Fight Night 27.
As the fight opened, Kampmann looked for a takedown and we would be able to get the fight to the ground. He would start in top position and ended up getting the back of Condit.
Condit would be able to get back to his feet and they would clinch against the fence. Kampmann would take the fight back to the ground. Once again, Condit would get back to his feet and breakaway from Kampmann. After a brief exchange of strikes, Kampmann took the fight to the ground and the fight moved into the second round.
In the second round, Condit was able to keep the fight on the feet and have Kampmann fight his type of fight. Kampmann attempted multiple takedowns during the round but Condit stopped the attempts and ended up going for his own takedowns. Condit would out land Kampmann in the round including throwing spinning strikes.
Condit continued to keep the fight on the feet in the third round and his strikes opened up a cut on the face of Kampmann. With his opponent having a cut on his face, Condit targeted the face of Kampmann. After landing several punches, Condit saw an opportunity to get the back of Kampmann and went for a rear-naked choke. He would escape the submission and the fight moved into the fourth round.
In what would be the final round, Condit was able to continue his successful striking and landed a flurry of punches and knees that would end the fight. The win for Condit (29-7) snaps a two fight losing streak and this is his first win since the beginning of 2012.
