An undisclosed injury has forced Johnny Bedford to pull out of his UFC Fight Night 28 bout against Hugo Viana and stepping in on short notice to face Viana will be Wilson Reis.
The new bout had been reported by various media outlets and the UFC made the change official on Friday.
UFC Fight Night 28: Teixeira vs. Bader will come from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil on September 4th and will be headlined by a five round light heavyweight bout as Glover Teixeira facing Ryan Bader.
Reis (16-4) will be making his debut in this fight and is a veteran of Elite XC, Bellator and Cage Warriors. Since his exit from Bellator, he has won four in a row and three of those wins have come by submission.
Viana (7-1) was a semifinalist on The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 1 and defeated John Teixeira by split decision in his official UFC debut at UFC 147. After the fight, he dropped down to the bantamweight division and defeated Reuben Duran at The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale. He will enter this fight coming off a lost as he was defeated in April by TJ Dillashaw.
