A featherweight bout has been added to UFC on FOX 9 in Sacramento as Chad Mendes will meet Nik Lentz.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Tuesday afternoon and the bout could end up being on the main card broadcast on FOX.
UFC on FOX 9 will come from the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California with the main card broadcast on FOX and preliminary card on Fox Sports 1.
Mendes (15-1) is currently on a four fight winning streak and his only defeat came against current UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo at the beginning of 2012. During his recent winning streak, all of the wins have come by TKO/KO including his knockout of the night victory over Clay Guida at UFC 164 last month.
Lentz (24-5-2, 1NC) has won three straight since moving down to the UFC featherweight division. He most recently defeated Hacran Dias by unanimous decision at UFC on FX 8 and his last two wins have come by unanimous decision.
