A lightweight bout has been added to UFC on FOX 9 in December as Danny Castillo will meet Edson Barboza.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Wednesday evening and the bout will be apart of the preliminary card on Fox Sports 1.
UFC on FOX 9 will come from the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California on December 14th and will be headlined by Anthony Pettis defending the UFC lightweight title against Josh Thomson.
Castillo (16-5) has won back to back fights and five of his last six in the UFC. His last two wins have come by decision with the most recent win coming against Tim Means at UFC on FOX 8 in July.
Barboza (12-1) entered the UFC in 2010 and won his first four fights in the organization before being defeated by former WEC champion Jamie Varner. Since losing to Varner, he has won back to back fights including a second round TKO victory over Rafaello Oliveira at UFC 162.
