“The Rock-n-Rolla” confirmed the signing on Twitter after his profile was recently added to the Bellator website.

Burrell (9-3) won five of his first six fights before signing with Strikeforce in 2011. He won three of his four fights in Strikeforce including a second round knockout over Lukasz Les.

His debut in the UFC came in February of this year at UFC 157 against Yuri Villefort. The bout was scheduled to be a welterweight bout, but the bout ended up being a catchweight bout of 175 pounds due to Burrell missing weight.

He did end up winning the fight against Villefort by unanimous decision and it was his third career win by decision. He returned at UFC 160 on the preliminary card and was defeated by decision against Thompson.

It’s unknown when Burrell will make his debut with Bellator but it’s likely he will make his debut during the upcoming ninth season of the organization.
