Joe Warren vs. Nick Kirk set for Bellator 101 next week in Portland

Joe Warren and Nick Kirk were scheduled to meet earlier this month at Bellator 98 but the fight did not take place due to Warren not receiving clearance by the commission and Bellator has rescheduled the fight for next week in Portland.Bellator 101 Poster #2

Bellator officials announced the new date for the fight during the Bellator 100 broadcast on Friday night and the bout will headline next week’s Bellator 101 card.

Bellator 101 takes place next Friday night from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon and the card will also feature the opening round of the season nine lightweight tournament.

Warren (8-3) dropped down to the bantamweight division permanently late last year after losing the featherweight title to Pat Curran. His last fight took place at Bellator 80 and he defeated Owen Evinger by unanimous decision.

Kirk (10-2) has lost both of his fights in Bellator and has won three of his last four fights. After losing to Tony Zelinski at Bellator 87 by split decision earlier this year, he defeated Ben Miller by triangle choke submission at Impact Fighting Championship in April. Both of his losses in Bellator came by decision and three of his career wins are by submission.
