In the final opening round bout of the lightweight tournament, Alexander “Tiger” Sarnavskiy secured his spot in the semifinals with a first round submission victory over Marcus Davis.
The fight started with Tiger charging in and landing a solid right hand, dropping Davis. Without hesitation, Tiger pounces, gaining Davis’ back and dropping heavy ground and pound. It seemed Davis had recovered when Tiger slipped in a rear-naked choke, forcing Davis to tap at 1:40.
Sarnavskiy (24-1) advances to the semifinal with this victory and will face Ricardo Tirloni next month.
