Piotr Hallmann made his debut in the UFC on Wednesday night in Brazil and won his tenth straight fight with a submission victory over Francisco Trinaldo in the second round.
In the opening five minutes of the fight, Trinaldo was able to use his kicks to the body to control the round and hurt Hallmann on several opportunities. Trinaldo had Hallmann on his heels for a majority of the round and Trinaldo ended the round in top position on the ground landing short strikes.
Hallmann was able to get the fight to the ground at the start of the second round when Trinaldo missed a right hand. Trinaldo did get back to his feet but the fight went back to the ground with Trinado looking for a leg lock submission. The submission was unsuccessful and Hallman got back to his feet. After a brief clinch against the fence, Hallmann took the fight to the ground.
While on the ground, Hallmann began to work for a kimura submission from the half guard position. After he got his right leg over the head of Trinaldo, he locked in the submission tighter and Trinaldo submitted.
Hallmann (14-1) now has six career wins by submission and this is his tenth straight win The defeat for Trinaldo (13-3) snaps a two fight winning streak and he is 3-2 in the UFC.
