A lightweight bout has been officially added to UFC Fight Night 31: Fight for the Troops 3 as Yves Edwards will meet Yancy Medeiros.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Sunday and it’s unknown if the fight will be apart of the main card broadcast on Fox Sports 1.
UFC Fight Night 31: Fight for the Troops 3 will take place on November 6th from Fort Campbell, Kentucky and will be headlined by Lyoto Machida making his UFC middleweight debut against Tim Kennedy.
Edwards (42-20-1) has lost back to back fights and three of his last four. His last two defeats have come by split decision with the most recent defeat coming at UFC on FOX 8 against Daron Cruickshank.
Medeiros (9-1) made his UFC debut earlier this year and was defeated by Rustam Khabilov at UFC 159 after he suffered an injury in the fight. Prior to entering the UFC, five of his nine wins have come by TKO/KO and went 2-0 in Strikeforce.
