UPDATED 10/4: The fifth episode of The Ultimate Fighter 18: Rousey vs Tate took place last night on Fox Sports 1 to decreased Nielsen ratings.
According to Nielsen sources, the preliminary overnight rating for episode five landed at 640k. Last night’s episode saw a 17% drop from last weeks show, which landed at 778k total viewers.
When it came to the demo’s the episode hit .52 (-5%) in the 18-49 adults, and .77 (-9%) in the 18-49 male demographics, all season lows for the show.
Last night’s episode featured David Grant of Team Rousey defeating Louis Fisette of Team Tate and it was the second straight victory for Team Rousey.
When it came to the nights competition, the UFC got destroyed in the head-to-head match ups losing out to Southpark (2.488 million), Duck Dynasty (8 million), The Bridge (1.43 million), and MLB playoff baseball on TBS between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Cleveland Indians (4.73 million).
Special note, it was the second straight night that TBS had a wild card playoff game and the two games averaged over 4 million viewers a piece. This is definitely something to pay attention to as Bellator is going head-to-head with Baseball as well on Friday night and if Wednesday was any indicator, it is going to be a rough night.
