Ed Herman was left without an opponent for UFC 167 when Rafael Natal was moved to the main event of UFC Fight Night 31 and Herman will now face Thales Leites on the November 16th card in Las Vegas.
The new fight was announced during Wednesday night’s edition of UFC Tonight and the bout will take place on the preliminary card.
UFC 167 takes place on November 16th from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will be headlined by Georges St-Pierre defending the UFC welterweight title against Johny Hendricks.
Leites (21-4) recently returned to the UFC in August and defeated Tom Watson by unanimous decision at UFC 163. It was his fourth straight victory and he has won seven of his last eight fights.
Herman (21-9, 1NC) is 4-1, 1NC in his last six fights and is coming off a split decision win over Trevor Smith at UFC on FOX 8. He was awarded the fight of the night bonus and it was his first fight night bonus since 2007.
