The opening bout of the World Series of Fighting 6 main card was a lightweight bout as Justin Gaethje remained undefeated with a second round TKO victory over Dan Lauzon.
Gaethje opened the fight with a high pace and the fighters exchange significant strikes including Gaethje landing a spinning back elbow. He appeared to hurt Lauzon with a body shot, but he was unable to capitalize.
As the opening round went on, Gaethje landed multiple leg kicks and had Lauzon struggling to stand on both of his feet.
He would continue to attack the right leg and Lauzon attempted to get him to come to the ground with him. However, he would not fall into his trap and the fight would move into the second round.
Gaethje continued to attack the legs of Lauzon at the start of the second round and stalked down Lauzon. The end of the fight would come at the 1:40 mark of the second round as Gaethje landed a right hand that dropped Lauzon. He would land another right hand on the ground before the referee came in to call the fight.
Gaethje (10-0) is now 3-0 in the World Series of Fighting and all of his wins in the organization have come by TKO/KO. He now has 9 wins by TKO/KO and his last four wins have come by this method. The defeat for Lauzon (17-5) snaps a five fight winning streak and it’s his first lost since he was defeated by Efrain Escudero at UFC 114.
