The UFC confirmed the new fight with TheMMAReport.com on Tuesday afternoon after Green tweeted that he would be facing Healy on the December 14th card.

UFC on FOX 9 takes place from the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento on December 14th and will be headlined by Demetrious Johnson defending the UFC flyweight title against Joseph Benavidez.

Green (21-5) is coming off a controversial stoppage victory over James Krause at last week’s UFC Fight Night 31 card. He has now won six fights in a row and four of those wins have come by stoppage.

Healy (31-16, 1NC) returned to the UFC earlier this year and has gone 0-1, 1NC since coming back to the organization. He was recently defeated by #7 UFC lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov by unanimous decision at UFC 165 and this will be his fourth fight of 2013.
