A light heavyweight bout has been added to the UFC fight card in London on March 8th as Ilir Latifi will get another fight in the UFC and he will meet Cyrille Diabate.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Thursday and the bout will likely be placed on the preliminary card.
The UFC fight card in London on March 8th will likely be UFC Fight Night 37, but that has not been officially announced by the UFC. The event will come from the O2 Arena in London and will be headlined by a light heavyweight bout as Alexander Gustafsson meets Jimi Manuwa.
Latifi (7-3, 1NC) was a short notice replacement for Gustafsson in April at UFC on FUEL TV 9 in Sweden and was defeated by Gegard Mousasi. The defeat snapped a three fight winning streak and it was his first defeat since losing to Emanuel Newton in 2011.
Diabate (19-9-1) has been in the UFC since 2010 and has gone 4-3 in the organization. After winning back to back fights in 2012, he was defeated by Manuwa at UFC on FUEL TV 7. Diabate was unable to continue after the first round due to him tearing a calf muscle.
The current fight card for the UFC event on March 8th is below.
Alexander Gustafsson (15-2) vs. Jimi Manuwa (14-0)
Melvin Guillard (31-12-2, 2NC) vs. Ross Pearson (15-6, 1NC)
Ilir Latifi (7-3, 1NC) vs. Cyrille Diabate (19-9-1)
