The second pay-per-view for the UFC in 2014 will take place on February 22nd in Las Vegas and will be headlined by Jon Jones defending the UFC light heavyweight title against Glover Teixeria.
The bout was announced during Wednesday night’s edition of “UFC Tonight” on Fox Sports 2.
Jones (19-1) has been the light heavyweight champion since 2011 and this will mark his seventh title defense. He is coming off a decision win at UFC 165 against Alexander Gustafsson, which is considered one of the best fights in the UFC this year.
Teixeira (22-2) is currently on a twenty fight winning streak and five of those wins have come in the UFC. His last two wins have come by stoppage in the first round, with his most recent victory coming at UFC Fight Night 28 as he defeated Ryan Bader by knockout.
UFC 170 will come from the Mandalay Bay Events Center on February 22nd and the UFC will be announcing more fights and on sale ticket information in the coming weeks.
