Luke Rockhold vs. Costa Phillipou set as headliner of UFC Fight Night 35

The UFC announced earlier this week that they would be returning to the Atlanta area for UFC Fight Night 35 on January 15th and they have now announced that the card will be headlined by a middleweight bout as Luke Rockhold meets Costa Phillipou.

UFC President Dana White announced the fight booking during the UFC 167 Post Fight Press Conference.

UFC Fight Night 35 will take place from the Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia and tickets for the event will go on sale December 6th.

Rockhold (10-2) is the former Strikeforce middleweight champion and was defeated by Vitor Belfort in his debut in the UFC earlier this year. The defeat snapped a nine fight winning streak and both of his career defeats have come by knockout.

Phillipou (12-3, 1NC) will also enter this fight coming off a defeat as he lost a decision to Francis Carmont at UFC 165 in September. The defeat snapped a five fight winning streak and it was his first defeat since his UFC debut.
