A scheduled bantamweight bout between Alex Caceres and Mitch Gagnon has been scratched from Friday’s UFC Fight Night 33 due to visa issues for Gagnon.
UFC officials announced the change on Sunday evening and the fight card will now go forward with eleven fights.
More information on when the fight will be re-booked is expected to be announced soon by the UFC.
UFC Fight Night 33 will take place from the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in on December 7th in Australia and will be headlined by Mark Hunt meeting Antonio Silva in a heavyweight bout. The event will air live in the United States on December 6th, due to the time difference between United States and Australia.
Caceres (9-5, 1NC) has gone 4-1, 1NC since dropping down to the bantamweight division in 2011 and is unbeaten in his last four fights. Following a suspension, he returned at UFC 165 and defeated Roland Delorme by split decision on the preliminary card.
Gagnon (10-2) made his debut in the UFC last year and has won back to back fights after dropping his debut at UFC 149 against Bryan Caraway. He was also on the UFC 165 preliminary card and he won the submission of the night bonus for his guillotine choke victory over Dustin Kimura.
