A pair of welterweight bouts have been added to the UFC London card on March 8th as Gunnar Nelson faces Omari Akhmedov and Danny Mitchell meets Igor Araujo.
UFC officials announced the fight bookings on Tuesday.
The UFC fight card in London on March 8th will come from the O2 Arena in London and will be headlined by a light heavyweight bout as Alexander Gustafsson meets Jimi Manuwa.
Nelson (11-0-1) has won his first two fights in the UFC and the wins have come against DaMarques Johnson and Jorge Santiago. He was booked to face Mike Pyle at UFC 160, but he had to pull out of the fight with an injury. Akhmedov (12-1) won his UFC debut last month against Thiago Perpetuo by knockout in the first round. It marked his ninth straight win coming in the first round and two of his last three wins have come by knockout.
Mitchell (14-4-1) will be making his UFC debut on this card and has won five of his last six fights. His last two wins and nine of his career wins have come by submission. Araujo (24-6, 1NC) is currently on a five fight winning streak and won his UFC debut in October. During his recent winning streak, three of the wins have come by submission and two of those have come by rear-naked choke.
