The injury to Dodson was initially reported by Sherdog and the UFC confirmed the injury shortly after the story was posted.

UFC on FOX 9 will come from the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California on December 14th and will be headlined by Demetrious Johnson defending the UFC flyweight title against Joseph Benavidez.

Dodson (15-6) tweeted earlier today that he was going to be sparring and this was the last hard week of training. According to the Sherdog report, he suffered “a serious knee injury” and was immediately taken to the hospital.

While Dodson confirmed his injury on Twitter, he did not give details on the exact injury. He wrote that he was sorry that he would be unable to compete next week in Sacramento and will be back soon.
