A featherweight bout has been officially added to UFC 171 in Dallas on March 15th as Daniel Pineda will face Robert Whiteford.
UFC officials announced the fight booking recently and the bout will be placed on the preliminary card.
UFC 171 takes place on March 15th from the American Airlines Arena in Dallas and will be headlined by Johny Hendricks facing Robbie Lawler for the vacant UFC welterweight title.
Pineda (18-10) made his debut with the UFC in 2012 and won his first two fights in the organization. However, he has dropped two of his last three fights, including a decision defeat against Diego Brandao in his last appearance in the octagon.
Whiteford (10-2) made his UFC debut in October and was defeated by Jimy Hettes at UFC Fight Night 30. The defeat snapped a ten fight winning streak and it was his first defeat since his pro debut in 2009.
