Kelvin Gastelum has been requesting a fight with Rick Story and the UFC has granted his request as the two UFC welterweights will meet at UFC 171 on March 15th in Dallas.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Friday evening and the bout may end up being one of the five fights on the main card.
UFC 171 takes place on March 15th from the American Airlines Arena in Dallas and will be headlined by Johny Hendricks facing Robbie Lawler for the vacant UFC welterweight title.
Gastelum (7-0) won The Ultimate Fighter 17 in 2013 and has gone 2-0 in the UFC. Following his win over Uriah Hall in the reality show final, he returned at UFC Fight Night 27 in August and defeated Brian Melancon by submission in the first round.
Story (16-7) has won two of his last three fights in the UFC and is coming off a decision victory at UFC 167 against Brian Ebersole. Four of his last five wins have come by decision, including a win over Hendricks in 2010.
