“If I’m [going] to pay $60 for a pay-per-view to watch women fight, they should at least be topless,” Brown said.

Following the statement made by Brown on his podcast, the UFC issued a statement on Thursday night which Brown has apologized for his actions.

“Matt Brown has apologized for the comments made on his podcast, and we have addressed the matter with him,” the UFC statement said. “His comments don’t reflect the views of the UFC. There’s no place for discrimination within our organization at any level. The UFC is built on principles of respect, and any statements to the contrary are not acceptable.”

Brown is currently recovering from two herniated discs in his back, which forced him to pull out of his UFC on FOX 9 bout against Carlos Condit. There has not been a timetable laid out for his return, but he is likely to return at some point in 2014.
