World Series of Fighting 9 set for March 29th in Las Vegas with two title fights

World Series of Fighting 9 is now officials for March 29th in Las Vegas at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and the fight card will feature two title fights.WSOF #2

The card was officially announced by the organization on Monday morning after MMAJunkie.com reported the event yesterday and the two title fights on the card.

In the main event, welterweight champion Steve Carl will make his first title defense as he will meet Rousimar Palhares, and in the co-main event, Marlon Moraes will meet Josh Rettinghouse for the inaugural bantamweight title.

Carl (21-3) won the inaugural WSOF welterweight title in October when he submitted Josh Burkman in the main event of WSOF 6. It was his seventh straight victory and all of those wins have come by submission. Palhares (15-5) has won four of his last six fights but was released by the UFC in October after not letting go of his submission against Mike Piece, after he tapped out. The victory against Pierce was his welterweight debut and snapped a two fight losing streak.

Moraes (12-4-1) is currently on a six fight winning streak and four of those wins have come in the WSOF cage. His most recent win took place at WSOF 6 in October as he defeated Carson Beebe by knockout in the first round. Rettinghouse (10-2) made his debut in the WSOF in October and defeated current WSOF flyweight fighter Alexis Vila by decision. It was his third straight victory and six of his ten career wins have come by submission.
