A bantamweight bout has been officially added to the UFC Fight Night 40 fight card on May 10th in Cincinnati as former title challenger Eddie Wineland meets Johnny Eduardo.
The fight booking was initially reported by MMA Fighting and was confirmed by the UFC on Wednesday afternoon.
UFC Fight Night 40 takes place from the U.S. Bank Arena on May 10th and tickets for the event will go on sale on March 21st.
Wineland (21-9-1) has won three of his last four fights in the UFC, with the only defeat coming against current UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao. He is coming off a TKO win at UFC on FOX 10 against Yves Jabouin and two of his last three wins have come by TKO/KO.
Eduardo (26-9) made his UFC debut in 2011 and lost a decision to current top bantamweight contender Raphael Assuncao at UFC 134. He returned at UFC on FUEL TV 3 against Jeff Curran and won by unanimous decision. Since that fight, he has been booked for two fights but had to pull out of both fights with an injury.
