The TDLR gave Eye an administrative penalty of $1,875 and a one year fully probated suspension for the positive drug test.

Following the news of the probated suspension, Eye released a statement through the UFC last Wednesday which she stated that she was recently told about the suspension and planned to discuss the situation with TDLR.

“I was recently alerted to the fact that I was issued a fully probated suspension and fine by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation,” Eye said in a statement. “While I intend to discuss with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation the overturning of my victory at UFC 166, I have accepted the terms of the probation and intend to compete at UFC 170 on Feb. 22. I pride myself on following the rules and representing my family, teammates, sponsors, and fans in the best light possible. I apologize for any distractions this has caused.”

Prior to Monday, it was unknown what the prohibited drug that Eye tested positive for. On Saturday, Brent Brookhouse of Bloody Elbow reported that Eye tested positive for marijuana. Eye appeared on “The MMA Hour” with Ariel Helwani on Monday and maintained her innocence in regards to the report over the weekend by Brookhouse.

Following her appearance on the weekly MMA internet program, Damon Martin of Fox Sports received paperwork from the TDLR that Eye tested positive for cannabinoids and this is a component in marijuana.

During her appearance on “The MMA Hour,” Eye stated that she found out about her fight with Kaufman being overturned to a no decision by a media report on Sherdog. However, Eye signed an agreement with TDLR on January 15, 2014 which she waived her right to appeal the suspension handed down by TDLR and agreed to pay the fine in seven scheduled payments.

Eye is still currently scheduled to fight Alexis Davis next week as long as she is given a license by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. She will receive that license wants she pass her pre-fight drug test and those results should be announced very soon.
