The UFC 173 fight card on May 24th has added two bouts as Sam Sicilia will meet UFC newcomer Doo Ho Choi and Ultimate Fighter 18 winner Chris Holdsworth faces Kyung Ho Kang.
Both fight bookings were announced by the UFC overnight and they will both take place on the preliminary card.
UFC 173 will take place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will be headlined by Chris Weidman defending the UFC middleweight title against Vitor Belfort.
Sicilia (12-4) was a member of Team Cruz during The Ultimate Fighter 15 and won his official UFC debut at the live finale against Cristiano Marcello. Since then, he has lost three of four, including a submission defeat in January against Cole Miller. Choi (11-1) was recently signed by the UFC and has won nine fights in a row. His last five wins have come by TKO/KO and has only gone to the third round twice in his career.
Holdsworth (5-0) has won all of his professional fights by submission, including a second round rear-naked choke against Davey Grant to win The Ultimate Fighter 18. Three of his five submissions have come by rear-naked choke and all of his wins have come in the first or second round. Kang (12-7, 1NC) is coming off a submission victory at UFC Fight Night 34 against Shunichi Shimizu and it was his first UFC victory. The victory snapped a two fight winless streak and was his ninth career win by submission.
