The Ultimate Fighter will finally branch out into the Latin American market

Through a press release on Thursday, the UFC announced that the seventh international season of The Ultimate Fighter will be feature sixteen fighters from Latin America.The Ultimate Fighter

Currently, weight classes have not been announced for the show, but fighters of all weight class between the ages of 21 and 34 who are fluent in Spanish can apply at www.ufcnetwork.com.

The only other criteria a fighter must have is possessing a winning record that has at least three fights. It’s been announced that the season will be shot in the Las Vegas location during Spring.

In the press release, Jamie Pollack, the UFC Senior Vice President of International Development and General Manager of Latin America, discussed the potential of the Latin American market when he said, “Latin America has become a huge market for the UFC and we’re excited to take it to the next level with The Ultimate Fighter.”

Pollack would also touch on their plan as it concerns the fighters in the area when he went on to state, “We want to find the next star, the next fighter who will do what Anderson Silva did for Brazil. We want to give the fans a homegrown hero.”

The seventeen countries that may featured on the show are Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Chile, Domican Republic, Ecuador, El Savador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

The coaches have yet to be announced for the show, but one would expect those names to be released soon with the taping date being coming up shortly.
