A bantamweight bout has been booked for the UFC 173 fight card on May 24th as TJ Dillashaw meets Takeya Mizugaki in a battle of top ten UFC bantamweights.
The fight booking was initially reported by Fox Sports and the UFC confirmed the matchup on Wednesday afternoon.
UFC 173 will come from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 24th and will be headlined by Chris Weidman defending the UFC middleweight title against Vitor Belfort.
Dillashaw (9-2) has won five of his last six fights and three of those wins have come by stoppage. Following a defeat to Raphael Assuncao, he returned at UFC Fight Night 35 and defeated Mike Easton by decision.
Mizugaki (19-7-2) is currently on a four fight winning streak and all four of those victories have come by decision. Eleven of his last thirteen fights have gone the distance and his last stoppage victory came in 2011 against Cole Escovedo.
