The bonuses were announced by UFC President Dana White at the post fight press conference, and the fight of the night bonus was worth $75,000, and the fight of the night was $50,000.

Trujillo won the fight of the night bonus with Jamie Varner for their lightweight bout that was the opening bout of the pay-per-view. Varner appeared close to a victory in the first round with a submission, but Trujillo was able to survive.

Varner would hurt Trujillo with punches against the fence but would not be able to land a finishing strike. Trujillo would recover and the fighters began to brawl with both fighters throwing everything they had. Trujillo would end up connecting with a right hand and the referee immediately came in to stop the fight once Varner fell to the ground.

This is the first time that Trujillo has won a fight night bonus and said at the post fight press conference that he does not have any plans for the money, and was grateful to be given two bonuses. For Varner, this is the second time that he has been awarded the fight of the night bonus since coming back to the UFC in 2012, as he won the bonus back at UFC on FOX 4 with Joe Lauzon.

With there being no submission victories on the UFC 169 card, their was no bonus for submission of the night. The fighters will receive their bonus checks once they pass their post fight drug test, which should be back in the next two weeks.
