UFC announces change to post fight bonuses

The UFC has decided to change the post fight bonus structure as the organization has eliminated the knockout and submission of the night bonus.UFC logo

Replacing the knockout and submission of the night bonus will be “Performance of the Night” bonuses to the top two individual performances on a fight card.

The policy change was announced by the UFC on on Tuesday evening and the UFC issued a statement on the change.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced today a modification to its live event bonuses. Effective immediately, UFC will award Fight of the Night bonuses to each of the fighters in the best fight of the night, as well as additional Performance of the Night bonuses to the two best individual performances on the card. The bonus amounts will remain $50,000. The Performance of the Night bonuses will reward the athletes who put on the best and most exciting individual performances.

UFC Fight Night 36 on Saturday night will mark the first event with the new policy. This new policy comes after the UFC broke a record for the most decisions in the organization history at UFC 169, and the UFC being in support of the Cleveland Clinic research on brain trauma with professional fighters.
