The UFC Fight Night 40 fight card continues to grow as the organization has announced a pair of flyweight bouts as Kyoji Horiguchi meets Darrell Montague and Chris Cariaso faces Louis Smolka.
Both fight announcements were announced by the UFC early this morning.
UFC Fight Night 40 takes place from the U.S. Bank Arena on May 10th and tickets for the event will go on sale on March 21st.
Horiguchi (12-1) made his UFC debut last year after being the Shooto 132 pound champion and won his debut at UFC 166 against Dustin Pague. It was his sixth straight victory and his last two wins have come by TKO. Montague (13-3) is the former Tachi Palace Fights flyweight champion and lost his UFC debut to John Dodson by knockout. The defeat snapped a four fight winning streak and all three of his losses have come against current UFC fighters.
Cariaso (16-5) has won back to back fights and is 3-2 in the UFC flyweight division. He is coming off a decision win at UFC 169 against Danny Martinez and two of his three wins as a flyweight have come by decision. Smolka (7-0) won his UFC debut last month as he earned a decision victory against Alptekin Ozkilic. It was the first time in his career that we went the distance and was only the second time that he made it to the third round.
