It was announced last night that the UFC will be returning to Cincinnati on May 10th and the UFC has announced two fights for the fight card as Soa Palelei meets newcomer Ruan Potts and Ben Wall faces Justin Salas.
Both fight announcements were made by the UFC on Wednesday.
UFC Fight Night 40 will take place from the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati and tickets for the event will go on sale March 21st.
Palelei (20-3) has won ten fights in a row and all of those wins have come by TKO/KO. His last two wins have come in the UFC and most recently defeated Pat Barry in December. Potts (8-1) was signed by the UFC earlier this month and was the EFC heavyweight champion. He has won three straight fights and all of those wins came by submission in the first round.
Wall (7-1-1) made his official UFC debut in December after being a member of Team Australia in TUF: The Smashes and was defeated by Alex Garcia. Prior to the defeat, he had won three in a row and all of those wins came by decision. Salas (11-5) has gone 2-2 in the UFC with the wins coming against Anton Kuivanen and Aaron Riley. Both of his UFC defeats have come by first round stoppage, with the most recent one coming in November against Thiago Tavares.
