Anthony Njokuani vs. Vinc Pichel announced for UFC 173

A lightweight bout as been added to UFC 173 on May 24th in Las Vegas as Anthony Njokuani will look for his second straight victory as he meets Ultimate Fighter alum Vinc Pichel.

The fight booking was announced by the UFC on late Tuesday evening and the bout will be placed on the preliminary card.

UFC 173 will come from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 24th and will be headlined by Chris Weidman defending the UFC middleweight title against Lyoto Machida.

Njokuani (16-7, 1NC) has won two of his last three fights in the UFC with his most recent victory coming at UFC on FOX 7 last year against Roger Bowling. He was scheduled to return in October at UFC Fight Night 30, but he pulled out of that fight with an undisclosed injury.

Pichel (8-1) won a member of Team Cruz during the 15th season of The Ultimate Fighter and his official debut came at the TUF 16 Finale and was defeated by Rustam Khabilov. After being out of action for just over a year, he returned at UFC Fight Night 35 in January and defeated Garett Whiteley by unanimous decision.
