Bellator 114 viewership up 40 percent from previous week

Bellator 114 took place on Friday night at the Maverik Center in Utah and the card was headlined by Alexander Shlemenko retaining the Bellator middleweight title with a second round submission victory over Brennan Ward. Bellator 114

According to Nielsen sources, Bellator 114’s preliminary live viewership landed at 711,000 total viewers, which is the second highest viewed show of the season. Friday night’s number is up 40 percent from last weeks Bellator 113, which only drew 507,000 viewers.

The peak of the broadcast came during the main event and it was 882,000 viewers. This show brings the Bellator Friday night average for Season 10 up to 690,000 live viewers, which is above the season nine Friday night average of 652,000 live viewers.

When it came to the competition on cable, the Sweet Sixteen games in the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament on TBS won the night. The late game between Michigan State and Virginia had 5.086 million viewers, while the earlier game on cable between Connecticut and Iowa State drew 3.105 million viewers. The game between Kentucky and Louisville that started at 10 p.m. ET on CBS drew 10.09 million viewers and it was the top show on television.
