A lightweight bout has been scheduled for UFC Fight Night in San Antonio on June 28 as Carlos Diego Ferreira will make his UFC debut against Ultimate Fighter 16 winner Colton Smith.
The fight booking was announced by the UFC on early Friday morning.
UFC Fight Night 43 will come from the AT&T Center on June 28th and will be headlined by a featherweight bout as Cub Swanson meets Jeremy Stephens.
Ferreira (9-0) was recently signed by the UFC after winning his last three fights in Legacy Fighting Championships. All three of his victories in Legacy came by decision and prior to entering the Texas based promotion, five of his first six victories came by submission.
Smith (3-3) has lost back to back fights since defeating Mike Ricci to win The Ultimate Fighter 16 in late 2012. His most recent fight came at UFC Fight for the Troops 3 and he was defeated by Michael Chiesa in his lightweight debut.
