Justin Gaethje won the World Series of Fighting lightweight title in January and he will make his first title defense in July against Nick Newell. 
The fight booking was first reported by Yahoo Sports on Tuesday.
Gaethje (11-0) defeated Rich Patishnock by TKO in the first round of WSOF 8 in January. It was his fourth win to take place in WSOF and all of those wins have come by TKO.
Newell (11-0) was signed by the WSOF last year after he was the XFC lightweight champion. Both of his wins in the WSOF have come by submission in the first round and ten of his eleven career victories have come in the first round.
An exact date for this title fight has not been determined at this time and the WSOF will be announcing the date and venue in the coming weeks.
