A lightweight bout has been added to the UFC 173 card on May 24th in Las Vegas as Ultimate Fighter 15 winner Michael Chiesa will face Francisco Trinaldo.
The fight booking was announced by the UFC on Saturday.
UFC 173 will come from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 24th and will be headlined by Chris Weidman defending the UFC middleweight title against Lyoto Machida.
Chiesa (10-1) has won three of his four fights in the UFC, including a submission victory over Al Iaquinta to win The Ultimate Fighter 15. He is coming off a submission of the night victory at UFC Fight for the Troops 3 against Ultimate Fighter 16 winner Colton Smith.
Trinaldo (14-3) is also an alum of The Ultimate Fighter as he was on the inaugural season of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil. He has won three of his last four fights and his most recent win came at UFC Fight Night 36 against Jesse Ronson.
