The controversial moment of the UFC Fight Night 38 card on Sunday came during the the lightweight bout between Norman Parke and Leonardo Santos. In the second round, Parke was deducted a point by referee Wernei Cardoso for grabbing the shorts of Santos.
The fight would end up being declared a majority draw due to the shorts grab by Parke, even though there was never a warning for the foul.
Parke did not speak to the media following the event, but he did speak to Gareth A Davies on yesterday’s Beyond the Octagon on BT Sport. Parke gave his thoughts on Cardoso, felt that the fight should have had an American referee, and the judge that scored the fight for Santos.
