Nevada State Athletic Commission Chairman Francisco Aguilar announced the results of the drug test on Thursday and Palhares fight with Carl will become official once both fighters make weight tomorrow.

World Series of Fighting 9 takes place on Saturday night at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

Palhares was ordered to have a pre-fight drug test performed for the commission to grant him a license for his fight on Saturday night. If he had tested positive, the World Series of Fighting planned to have Carl defend the title against Tyler Stinson.

With Palhares passing his pre-fight drug test, the fight card is now set with eleven fights, even though the World Series of Fighting originally planned for thirteen fights. Aguilar told TheMMAReport.com yesterday that normally, the commission will allow nine fights when they approved a date, but worked with the Nevada based promotion to allow them to have eleven fights.

“Thirteen is out of the norm and normally when we approved a date, we usually do not go over nine,” Aguilar said. “Nine is out norm and sometimes we will allow additional fights up to eleven. There was never a discussion of thirteen when the date was approved. To accommodate their request and to accommodate their needs, we did look at eleven fights.”
