Takanori Gomi replaces Danny Castillo at UFC 172, meets Isaac Vallie-Flagg

Isaac Vallie-Flagg was initially booked to face Danny Castillo at UFC 172 next month, but the UFC has announced that he will now face Takanori Gomi.

The fight change was announced by the UFC on Tuesday evening and according to UFC officials, Castillo will remain on the fight card.

UFC 172 will take place from the Baltimore Arena on April 26th and will be headlined by Jon Jones defending the UFC light heavyweight title against Glover Teixeira.

Gomi (34-9, 1NC) will be stepping into the octagon for the first time since his controversial split decision defeat to Diego Sanchez at UFC on FUEL TV 8. Prior to the defeat to Sanchez, he had won back to back fights and three of his last five.

Vallie-Flagg (14-4-1) made his debut with the UFC in early 2013 and defeated Yves Edwards by split decision. The victory over Edwards was his fifth straight victory and his winning streak was snapped at UFC Fight Night 35 in January as he was defeated by Elias Silverio.
