The opening round of the season ten welterweight tournament took place last Friday night in Indiana and one of the tournament semifinal bouts has a date as Andrey Koreshkov will meet Sam Oropeza at Bellator 115 on April 4th.
Bellator officials announced the booking on Friday and the other semifinal between Adam McDonough and Nathan Coy is expected to take place the following week at Bellator 116.
Bellator 115 will come from the Reno Events Center on April 4th and will be headlined by Vitaly Minakov making his first Bellator heavyweight title defense as he is challenged by season nine tournament winner Cheick Kongo.
Koreshkov (15-1) is looking to become the fourth fighter in Bellator history to win two tournaments in the same weight class. In the opening round, he scored the sixth fastest victory in Bellator welterweight division history as he defeated Nah-Shon Burrell by TKO.
Oropeza (11-2) also scored a first round victory last week in the opening round of the tournament as he defeated Fight Master alum Cristiano Souza by TKO. He has now won six fights in a row and three of those wins have come inside the Bellator cage.
