Maximum Fighting Championship heavyweight champion Anthony Hamilton has been signed by the UFC and he will meet fellow UFC newcomer Oleksiy Oliynyk at UFC Fight Night 44 in San Antonio.
The fight booking was announced by the UFC on late Wednesday night.
UFC Fight Night 44 will come from the AT&T Center and will be headlined by Cub Swanson meeting Jeremy Stephens in a scheduled five round featherweight bout.
Hamilton (12-2) trains out of Jackson’s MMA and is currently on a six fight winning streak. During his winning streak, four of the victories have come in the first round and three of those wins have come by TKO/KO. His last fight took place in January when he defeated Ultimate Fighter alum Darrill Schoonover by unanimous decision.
Oliynyk (48-9-1) was signed by the UFC earlier this year and was scheduled to make his debut at UFC on FOX 10. However, he pulled out of the fight with an undisclosed injury. He is currently on a nine fight winning streak and he is coming off a submission victory against Mirko Cro Cop in November.
