Bellator and Bamboo Nutra recently launched a nationwide community outreach program called the “Champions Challenge,” and the two companies visited a children’s hospital in Southern California yesterday.
Bellator MMA Chairman & CEO Bjorn Rebney, Emmanuel Newton, Cheick Kongo, and humanitarian Rex Crain visited the Children’s Hospital Of Orange County yesterday afternoon.
“It’s a privilege to be able to spend time with the kids at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County,” Rebney said. “When you walk into that room with Champions like Emanuel Newton and Cheick Kongo and you see faces light up, it puts everything in perspective. This is a spectacular program that Bamboo Nutra’s created and a key example of the altruism that great companies can exhibit.”
The two companies are visiting schools and hospitals with a key message to young people to become a champion in their everyday lives while doing something each day to help others in their lives.
“Today was just an incredible day here at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County,” Crain said. “To see the smiles of these kids’ faces is really a special sight. The parents are excited, the hospital staff is excited, and in the midst of the struggle and setbacks these families are dealing with, if we can offer just a few minutes of positivity, it’s a homerun for everyone involved.”
