Top women’s bantamweight prospect Holly Holm raised her stock in the main event of Legacy Fighting 30 when she finished Juliana Werner with a head kick in the fifth.
Holm became the inaugural Legacy women’s bantamweight champion with the victory.
Throughout the entire fight, Holly Holm dominated Werner, dictating the pace with a multitude of kicks and combinations as well as dominant work in the clinch and on the feet.
Holm (7-0) improved her undefeated record with the win and has finished a fight via strikes for the sixth time in her career. Werner (7-4) had won five in a row heading into the fight.
Alvaro outpoints Sanchez to earn win
In a featherweight bout, Flavio Alvaro used a steady diet of powerful slams and effective grappling to take home a unanimous decision against Donald Sanchez.
Although he dropped the third frame, Alvaro was able to win the first two rounds comfortably. Alvaro was able to land powerful slam after powerful slam throughout the fight. Alvaro (47-10) has now won 16 of his last 17 fights, and the loss was Donald Sanchez’s (29-14) eighth defeat via decision.
Borg remains unbeaten with submission
Flyweight prospect Ray Borg kept his undefeated record in tact by submitting Nick Urso in the second round with a rear-naked choke.
After a back-and-forth first round that saw each flyweight get the better of each other with transitions and positioning on the ground, Borg took control of the fight by bringing the fight down to the ground and dominating that aspect of the fight. Borg was able to soften Urso up with a multitude of elbows and secured the choke for the victory.
Borg (6-0) finished a fight by way of submission for the fourth time in his career, while Nick Urso (7-2) had a six fight winning streak snapped.
