A welterweight bout will kick off the Bellator 120 pay-per-view on May 17th as undefeated British striker Michael Page will meet Ricky Rainey.
The fight booking was announced by the Bellator on Friday afternoon.
Bellator 120 will come from the Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi and will be headlined by Eddie Alvarez defending the Bellator lightweight title against Michael Chandler.
Page (5-0) made his Bellator debut last year and scored the fastest victory in Bellator welterweight history as he defeated Ryan Sanders by knockout out ten seconds. He was scheduled to return in season nine, but injuries forced him out of two different fights.
Rainey (7-2) was signed by Bellator earlier this year and made his debut last week at Bellator 116. He would earn his fourth career victory by knockout as he defeated Andy Murad and his performance convinced Bellator MMA Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney to get him back in the cage as soon as possible.
“After seeing the performance that Ricky put on at Bellator 116, the decision was a no brainer to get him back into our cage as quickly as possible,” Rebney said. “Michael Page is one of the most explosive fighters this sport has, and to be able to put both these guys in the cage together is magic. I couldn’t think of a better fight to put on to kick off our pay-per-view than these two explosive, tall, long Welters that throw bombs.”
